About Mark

Mark studied music full time from 2006 to 2011 at South Eastern Regional College, leaving with a Higher National Diploma in music performance. It was there that he studied under some of Northern Ireland’s top musicians, learning performance skills, music theory, composition, music business and production.

Since leaving college 9 years ago Mark has continued his studies in music, focusing on jazz history and performance, world music, guitar lutherie, music production and double bass. He has performed all over the country and on television and radio with The HardChargers, Dolbro Dan and his own band; Paper Dogs.

Mark discovered he had a passion for teaching and in 2016  started his own teaching business, with a focus on making music lessons a fun and engaging experience. Mark’s aim for his students is to not only teach them how to play their chosen instrument, but also help them understand the theory behind music and to develop their creativity and improvisation skills.
