Mark first picked up a guitar in 2003 at the age of 13 and has never been able to put it down. He began taking lessons from a local teacher and from age 16 progressed on to study music Performance full time at South Eastern Regional College in Bangor. During this time he diversified into other string instruments such as Bass Guitar and Double Bass earning qualifications for both.
He has been performing for almost 15 years at a variety of functions, festivals and events throughout the island of Ireland. It was during these years performing Mark discovered a passion for teaching, enabling him to share his knowledge and experience to those wishing to learn.
Mark has delivered lessons in a range of locations such as schools, colleges, and at home, to a mixture of age groups and catering for all abilities and ambitions. More recently and in light of current world events, Mark has set up online facilities to allow current students to continue lessons and to invite new students from all around the country who may be limited with travel.
Mahood Music offers private lessons for Guitar, Bass, Double Bass, and Music Theory. Our Goal is to make music lessons fun, engaging, and accessible to all. We want to give students a real sense of achievement as they progress on their instrument.
Mahood Music is located in Newtownards in County Down Northern Ireland. We also provide high quality online lessons via Skype or Zoom.
